A little background for this page ladies and gentlemen. Maureen Horn met a very lovely young man six years ago called Frank Hessey, he owns a beautiful building called Hampson House on Hampson Lane. Ever since that day when they met their friendship has grown and become increasingly stronger. This year during their talks about Maureen's role as the Chairperson of Grange Park Residents Association and how well we are all doing, Frank picked up on the work with the youth of the estate. Frank listened tentatively to Maureen's fond recollections of working with the youth, he then asked if there was anything he could help with as he admired her aims and objectives regarding the youth. As the conversation continued Frank decided to offer Maureen the use of Hampson House and it's grounds at any given time.
Well as a direct result of this Maureen said it would be lovely to take the children on holiday, to which Frank replied why don't you bring them up to the house for a camping trip. He continued to say that he would leave the tents out for us and that we could use the main area of the house just incase the weather turned bad.
So we are pleased to announce that on the 29th August 2008 we took Frank Hessey up on his kind offer and stayed there until the 1st September 2008. It was an outstanding success which the children enjoyed immensely. We had a fantastic team with us to care for the children, we also had 2 first aiders, two P.C.S.O's who decided to visit us and of course Frank Hessey and his wife came up for a visit to see how we were doing and if we needed any supplies. What a lovely man so thoughtful and caring of him to come and ask if he could do anymore for our team. Frank was shown around the grounds and watched the children playing on the Wee for a short while, then he was offered a Sunday lunch which I might add was cooked on a barbecue by our fantastic chef Shane. unfortunately Frank and his wife had to leave as they had a meal booked already, but before he left he did state how happy he was to see the children have so much fun and how proud he was of being involved with such a lovely group of kids and volunteers.
So please view our pictures below of the event at Hampson House and see for yourself how much fun the kids had thanks to our guardian angels Frank Hessey and his beautiful wife.
