As you may or may not be aware we had an art class running for one week in August 2008 based at the Cherwell Centre, the artist involved was called Heather who just gained a degree in art. Thank you Heather for helping our kids with this project, you were amazing to work with and it will be a pleasure to work with you again in the future. The aim of the art classes was to make a work of art for the Argosy Day Centre and another for the Cherwell Centre. A massive thank you goes out to a special lady who helped to arrange all work behind the scenes, Mrs Hazel Pearson we thank you dearly for all your hard work and pure commitment, what would we do without you. xxx
Heather proved to be quite an inspiration to our children and worked with them fantastically well, Both works of art were completed on time and looked outstanding. The Cherwell artwork was placed on the wall as you enter the Centre (prime postion) for anybody to view the work if they so wish.
As for the work created for the Argosy Day Centre, well we held an artwork unvielling day (13.09.08) at the Centre. We had a lovely visitor who popped along to help us on the day and promote keeping our estate clean and tidy. We then served a meal (at the Cherwell) for all who attended. Our chef Shane, along with some of our junior residents cooked braising steak with vegetables from the Chepstow Garden. The chef and the children dressed in black in whites and served the meal perfectly.
Please view our pictures below to see for yourself what an overwhelming success the day turned to out to be.
Then came the big cat to promote keeping Blackpool clean, the identitiy of the big cat unfortunately must remain secret...lol. Our very own Hazel Pearson took the pictures, Hazel is our Reassurance Engagement Officer who works with Blackpool coastal Housing.
Then came the time for the kids to have their art presented to Argosy Day Centre.
After the big cat strutt across the estate we took the cat for a meal at the Cherwell Centre, everybody involved in the day was invited to pop along and taste the produce of the Chepstow Community Garden.
